VACATION RENTAL FEATURES:

• The entrance to this former mansion house is located on a quiet side street near the prestigious Quai d'Orleans.  First, you cross the small courtyard, and then you climb two flights of stairs (spiral style) before reaching this apartment which offers stunning views of the left bank, Ile de la Cité and Notre Dame Cathedral. This apartment, a typical hotel particulier with authentic dark wooden parquet floor, tall "Romeo & Juliet" style windows, high ceiling, cream walls and numerous golden details, was originally inhabited by the French noblesse. It was recently renovated, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful furniture in Louis XV and Louis XVI style as well as all the modern conveniences befitting today's demands.
• Now, the foyer of the apartment, while small, is welcoming, and from there you access the living room and kitchen located on the left and the bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms on the right. Entering first into the living room, you are greeted by light streaming generously through the massive windows adorned by curtains in dark claret and golden tones, and from where you have a splendid view of the left bank.
• This room, just like the rest of the apartment, features 18th century style furniture in carefully selected coordinated fabrics which highlight the different architectural elements and objects. For instance, you see the crystal chandelier and sconces, huge mirrors, the antique Prussian stoves gracing the deep alcoves in two corners and the pipes which are cleverly fashioned to look like palm trees - a reflection of the 18th century fascination with exotic locations and motifs. This luxurious setting creates a perfect backdrop for you to relax in, from its period style furniture to the large flat screen, DVD and surround sound. In case you prefer the view of the sun setting over Notre Dame, the window provides access to a private balcony overlooking the river Seine.
• The dining room and kitchen are located right of the living room with again generous light streams through the windows. The centrepiece, a pale orange veined marble fireplace, is just behind the Louis XVI style inlaid table which easily seats 8. Opposite, the large and fully equipped Siemens kitchen boasts a finely painted cabinetry, and integrated appliances such as a refrigerator, dish washer and washing machine/dryer - all is ready should you wish to prepare and create haute cuisine maison!
• Going back through the living room and foyer and down the corridor, you find a very spacious walk-in closet to store all your holiday clothes and items in utmost comfort.  The first door to the right leads to a bedroom on the quiet court yard side of the building. Two Louis XVI style twin beds, which can be reconfigured to create one large bed, and night stands on each side of these beds, will ensure a good night's rest. A white marble fireplace with tall an antique mirror mounted above is placed on the opposite wall, with an antique dressing table situated nearby.  The toile fabrics are cheerful and the mood set in this room is light and peaceful.  A doorway leads into the en suite large bathroom of which the most striking features are the claw-foot tub with shower and another fireplace.
• Continuing down the hallway to the end, you find the master suite of the apartment. The combination of neutral and warm colours and selected details make this room very homely.  A large queen size bed with padded head-board dominates the room with a second home entertainment system on the opposite wall, with low seated armchairs adding to the comfort and boudoir feel of this room. In one corner, the curious convex door, painted in 18th century style chinoiserie motifs, giving it a touch of ‘Alice in Wonderland', opens into the master bathroom complete with another exceptional claw-foot tub and shower. The walls are decorated with ceramic tiles ornamented with intricate patterns in pale green tones.  The pleasant nature of the bathroom invites you to enjoy a relaxing break in the tub after an adventurous day in the French capital.
• In sum, this exceptional and luminous apartment, entirely renovated in 2007, offers a rare view of the river and the city in a luxurious and original 18th century style setting, including all modern conveniences you would expect to find in a luxury home today.
