Just wanted to thank you for making my stay in Hibiscus so memorable. I appreciated your help and concern for detail. I do want to give you a bit of feedback which may help you match future renters to the right apartment. As a woman travelling alone, I really liked the security of the building- a keypad to the outer door, the need to "buzz" someone up you stairs and lastly the need to open the door onto the corridor before you even arrive at the front door. I also loved the bathtub as opposed to just a shower. I had a party and the main room of the apartment easily accommodated 8 guests. The kitchen was very functional and suits anyone who wants to cook as opposed to "nuke" or do a simple pasta. I also loved that the bed was a bit hidden from the main room- it reminded me of primavera..rather than 2 little rooms 1 big with the bed partially tucked away. Again with many thanks, Beth.

GUEST REVIEW FROM WWW.TRIPADVISOR.COM Beginning with my initial request for information, everything was handled with efficiently and professionalism. I rented the Marguerita and found it to exactly as described on the web site. The only surprise was a beautiful vase of flowers waiting on the dining room table to welcome me and my traveling companion. My friend slept on the convertible sofa bed in the living room. It had been thoughtfully made up for her. My separate bedroom had a comfortable queen-size bed. The kitchen was beautifully equipped. It was nice to wake up in the morning, walk to a bakery and return to make coffee before heading out for the day. The apartment was in a great location and the I'le felt very safe, even in the early morning and very late evening hours. Metro stops were convenient. We stopped in the office several times to ask for some assistance and were always made to feel extremely welcome. I was so impressed that I've already made a deposit for this apartment for June 2010! Also, we took advantage of having Vincent meet us at the airport. He was courteous and an excellent driver. How he managed our luggage all by himself, I'll never know! He also delivered us safely back, with even more luggage! Visit the website. Trust what you see and read. You'll never go back to Paris and stay anywhere else after being in the hands of these lovely people.

Dear Phillipe & Christophe Thanks for your email finalising arrangements for our recent stay in Paris. Rest assured we greatly enjoyed our time in "Callas" and will certainly be suggesting to any of our friends who intend visiting Paris to seriously consider "Guest Apartment Services" before looking at any other accommodation options. In addition, "Le Petit Pontoise", suggested in your notes for guests, was a real find. We dined there on all bar 2 evenings and, on reflection, should have done so every night. Even after 4 dinners we weren't half way through the seductive options on the menu. You would, in our opinion, be serving your clients really well if you strengthened your recommendation. We have no idea if or when we will make it to Paris again, but will certainly be looking to "Guest Apartments" if we do. Please give Jean-Paul our apologies for bothering him with our foolish inability to get the dryer to work; our concerns arose from worry that we would damage the machine if we turned the dial the correct way as there seemed to be unusual resistance in the knob when we tried this. Bonjour Philippe, Thank you for letting me know that all was well with the apartment. We had a wonderful time in Paris, and thank you for getting us settled in so quickly and efficiently. We absolutely loved staying in Anthurium! The apartment was so conveniently located for both left and right bank activities. And with such a great view, we spent a lot of time in the evening just looking out across the river. Also, the weather was so nice during our stay that we were able to spend some time enjoying the lovely terrace as well after our foray to the Bastille Market on Sunday. We also frequently enjoyed the patisserie you recommended, and we lucked into a fabulous meal at Les Fous de L'ile. We walked a lot, but we mastered the Paris metro in no time. Thanks to your directions, we did make it to the quincaillerie in the basement of the BHV for my husband's suitcase repair, which was actually a fun (and I suspect non-typical) experience. The apartment was just amazing with its' incredible views and location - it still seems like almost a dream. We really appreciated your help with our stay. Your restaurant recommendations were all excellent and we had several memorable meals. We particularly enjoyed trying your family's wine at Le Fin Gourmet! I usually find Chardonnays to be a bit too heavily oaked but this one was delightful. We also took your suggestion to pick up the paper on the Journees du Patrimoine events and as a result we had a tour of the 'Site des Cordeliers' at the Universite Pierre et Marie Curie. I confess that I could understand less than half of the presentation owing to my basic understanding of French, but it was really special to be able to visit the cloisters and see the architecture and monuments there, which might not normally be available to tourists. Bonjour Philippe - Merci for the great week on Ile St. Louis. We loved the apartment and the location is clearly the best in all of Paris. We had wonderful day trips to the catacombs, Brussels, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, etc.... We accomplished everything we hoped to do, and truly enjoyed having an apartment in the City as the home base for our adventure. Our kids will never forget this trip. The apartment worked out fantastically for all of us. My wife and I had privacy and relative quiet while the kids enjoyed their own space and freedom. The kitchen is fantastic, and we had several excellent meals with groceries from the local markets, and great bottles of Bordeaux. Bonjour! How can I thank you enough for the magnificent bouquet of beautiful flowers that have just been delivered to our door? The white roses are very large blossomed and have a lovely, gentle aroma. The lilies will soon be in full bloom in all of their glory, and the green chrysanthemums emphasize the whiteness of the other flowers perfectly! Merci, merci, merci! Also, to Philippe -- bravo! We could not believe that you were able to make reservations for us at Chez L'Ami Louis on such short notice. We had decided just at the last moment to try to have lunch there, but did not really expect that you would be successful. I must tell you that there was not an empty seat in the restaurant! We had foie gras --three generous thick slices with a very, very dense texture and, of course, a wonderful richness and fullness of flavour -- and then the chicken -- crisp, juicy and again, very, very flavourful. Messieurs, Ma femme et moi aimerions vous remercier pour votre accueil chaleureux lors de notre séjour à Paris. L'appartement que nous avons habité était exactement tel que décrit sur votre site Internet. Le logement était très lumineux, confortable, propre et bien équipé. Le bouquet de fleurs de saison qui nous attendait était une agréable attention. Nous avons grandement apprécié l'Île-Saint-Louis. L'emplacement est idéal et bien qu'à proximité des zones touristiques, il y règne une atmosphère sereine. De plus, l'île regorge de petits commerces essentiels et de commerçants sympathiques. Que ce soit l'andouillette ou le boudin de la boucherie, le Cantal ou le Valençay de la fromagerie ou la baguette et la tarte chocolat de la boulangerie-pâtisserie, nous avons pu trouver de quoi égayer notre table. Toutefois, ce qui nous a le plus épaté est la qualité du service que nous avons reçu. Ma femme et moi avons fréquenté plusieurs hôtels de luxe à-travers le monde et nous avons rarement obtenu un service aussi cordial, professionnel et personnalisé. Vous étiez présents pour nous aider à-trouver rapidement un médecin pour des raisons de santé ou même pour trouver un bon blanc pour accompagner un repas à la truffe. Trip Advisor Website Review: We have recently returned from a trip to Paris, that most romantic of all cities, where we stayed for a month on the magical Ile Saint-Louis, the most romantic and beautiful place to stay in Paris. Many people don’t seem to have heard of this tiny island, adjoining Ile de la Cité, and it is a quiet oasis in the heart of Paris, tranquil and peaceful, yet close to all the major sight-seeing you’ll want to do. We discovered a wonderful company, Guest Apartment Services, Paris, who manage over 30 apartments on the island or closely adjoining it, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. First their web-site: the photos of the apartments we stayed in looked picture post-card perfect, but the real thing was even better. I’ll never forget arriving on a cold winter’s day in January and walking into this glorious apartment (Acacia), all bathed in afternoon sunlight and with fabulous views across the Seine of Notre Dame Cathedral on one side and the Pantheon on the other. It is like a room out of Versailles Palace, but with all modern conveniences and a luxury kitchen. Our eleven day stay here was all too short, and each day we had trouble leaving the apartment to go sight-seeing, as we had it all there in front of us. We even had a tiny balcony with table and chairs overlooking the Seine. I defy anyone to find a better place to stay in all Paris! For the remainder of the month, we stayed in another superb apartment, Arum, just across the other side of the river, with equally stunning views and so spacious, we couldn’t believe it. Here we were treated to Art Deco luxury and views across the Seine of Notre Dame and the Ile Saint Louis. All our luggage was, of course moved across for us! The wonderful team at Guest Apartment Services look after your every need, organising an excellent limousine service to take you to and from the airport, recommending and booking restaurants and sight-seeing tours, a mid-week cleaning service and in fact, anything you need to make your stay very special and perfect. Situated in the middle of the island, they are right on hand if you need anything, and cheerfully came over to show us how to use the television and to bring us extra coat-hangers. It’s like being in a luxury hotel, but with greater privacy and at a fraction of the cost. I can’t speak highly enough of this wonderful company. Since our return, they have offered to pick up our lost wallet from the police station and post it to us. They have a wide range of apartments on the island to suit most budgets and charge no extra for all their helpful services I will never stay anywhere else in Paris now that I have experienced the best.

Dear Philippe, Christophe and Thomas, I'm back to reality in New York on this early Sunday morning and wanted to let you know how very much I enjoyed my month at 60, rue St. Louis en L'Ile. I had planned to call you on Friday morning before I departed for the airport but my driver appeared earlier than anticipated and, so, I was not able to offer an in-person thank you. From my arrival on October 1 till my departure on October 31, I relished every day in beautiful Paris...well, some of the sunnier days were a bit more enjoyable than the rainy ones but even the wet ones didn't detract from the pleasure of being in a place with endless opportunity for exploration. While I always try to visit significant sights while I'm there - and to revisit favorite ones - some of the most memorable days are spent just wandering the neighborhoods, soaking up the local color. And...the food... how can I describe the pleasure derived from sampling as many boulangeries as possible? There were days I was happy to just eat bread, cheese and, o.k., drink wine! This trip I had the pleasure of participating in three cooking classes: two at the home of a French woman in the 5th and another at the Ritz Escoffier School. Now I will put on my toque and astound my friends with new-found skills in the kitchen! I want you to know that your service throughout the month was unparalleled. It was friendly and it was professional and, even when Jean Claude had to come for door lock solutions at "Saffron" twice and TV reboot, you were there immediately. I always knew that answers were at my fingertips with a call to your office. "Saffron" was a perfect petite pied a terre for my visit;my husband agreed during his part-time visit too. I was able to master the use of the washer/dryer and induction stove top so all my needs were met. And I loved the idea of being on the main street where I could open the large windows and feel a part of the local scene beneath me. A record number of Parisians and tourists must consume ice cream on a daily basis if I can judge from my observations of rue St. Louis en L'Ile! So...friends...I offer an enthusiastic "mille fois merci" to all of you for helping me create wonderful memories during my month on Ile St. Louis! To Christophe for organizing that very special day to Beaune, the restaurant at Le Benaton(very good indeed)- without the visit to Beaune I would not have stumbled on a little wine shop & sourced my Armand Rousseau ’06 plus that very special Lecheneaut-Clos de la Roche- now all safely in my cellar!! Plus virtually doing all the bookings inc train travel & Vincent to pick us up at 0600 hrs. Also well beyond the call of duty you kindly drove us to the restaurant Aux Lyonnais when we could not get a taxi because it was raining. The list just goes on, such as recommending that fantastic boucher Jean Paul Gardil for some great guinea hen/chicken from Perigord & Charolais steaks . Also a very special thanks to Vincent for all the private car transfers(good to see he has the same car as us so we were quite at home!) and to Thomas at your office for all that special extras that we needed help on-I promise you I shall learn a little more French next time( also thanks for recommending the cheese shop next to the boucher-he did not have much but what he had to sell was truly first class, some of which we order here specially to be air-flown to Melbourne. It was just the right amount of space for us, the view was wonderful, nice touch with the bouquet of lillies. If I had had some of your business cards, it would have been a great selling opportunity to throw them to everyone who passed by!! Paris was wonderful. The food, the wine, the people, the metro (except for the tickets that didn't work)...we especially loved having Notre Dame just a 10 minute walk away. It was spectacular at night. It's like having a concierge available in their office on St. Louis en I'lle to make dinner reservations, day trips, car pick ups, etc. From our initial Email for information, all was handled quickly and efficiently. Even though we travel in France often, our French is very, very limited. This service is very easy for Americans to use. The apartments all have Queen or king sized beds---a rarity in Paris. They are beautifuly decorated, and have all the conveniences of a good hotel. We stayed in HIBISCUS on Rue St. Louis en I'lle. It was billed as a large studio. We usually prefer a separate bedroom, but we ended up liking this better. The main room was huge with 2 sofas, 2 chairs, and a dining table with 4 chairs. There was a decorated screen separating the king sized bed. The ceilings were probably 14 ft. high with huge beams---just stunning! Then there was a separate kitchen and modern bath.(including microwave, dishwasher, washer, oven, cooktop, and all the dishes and utensils you would need). There was a radio, CD player(our IPOD worked great) and TV. Every morning my husband would go to one of 3 bakeries within 2 blocks of the apt. and bring back baguettes and pastry while I made coffee. That's about all the "cooking" we did. But we also like to have a nice place to relax from about 5pm until 8pm when we go out for dinner. If there was any drawback to this apt. it was that there was some street noise in the morning. Didn't bother us at all, but it may bother some who like it really quiet. Take a look at their gorgeous pictures on their web site. We will definitely use their service again.

The location is in the heart of Paris with easy walking distance to nearby sights and the Metropolitan. Despite the central location, the area is calm and quiet compared to most of touristy Paris, and even at its busiest (in afternoons and early evenings) is easy to navigate. It is quiet at night and very safe. Nearby Amenities There were a number of nearby restaurants and shops, and at least two grocers within a two minute walking distance. Some wonderful pastry shops, including the exceptional Calixte, were seconds away. The House/Apartment The building is a well renovated 17th century structure (as are most buildings on the island) that was well maintained and had a total of four apartments. The apartment was very quiet, with excellent double pane windows that blocked what little street noise there was. The apartment flow was pleasant, with entry at the center facing a small but adequate kitchen, and with a comfortable living/dining room to one side and the bedroom and bath to the other. The apartment was in excellent condition, clean and obviously well taken care of, with some very nice decorative touches to make it feel rather special. You can view the property directly: Saffron. Garden There was not an outside sitting area. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas Furnishings were first rate and comfortable, and there was more than adequate seating. Linens and towels were replaced at mid week without request. Bedrooms/Bathrooms The bed was in excellent condition, supportive but comfortable. The bedroom was a good size and nicely decorated. The bathroom was spotless and more than adequate, with lots and lots of towels, soaps, TP, etc. Kitchen The kitchen is small, but works quite well. There is a two burner convection stove top, a microwave, a good sized refrigerator, plenty of pots and dishes, etc. and a washer/dryer that works well. We cooked some rather enjoyable full meals with ease. Problems or Bonuses The bouquet of flowers, the bag of goodies, and the detailed guide to the apartment and its features, the building, the area, and Paris in general was superb. Agency and Representatives (and price) If we designed the agency ourselves, it could not have been better. From Internet contact to personal contact, it all went so very well. Philippe and Christof were kind and friendly individuals, ready to assist us at a moments notice. They spoke English quite well (much better than our French), and talking with them was rather enjoyable. The flat was exactly as promised but made better by the ease that was built into the process. While rentals in Paris can be pricey, this one proved a very good value. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? We would love to stay here again, and would recommend the apartment and the agency without reservation. It really could not have been better. Dear Christophe and Philippe, My husband and I have done an extensive amount of traveling and always choose to stay in accommodations that offer very high levels of service and quality. We have steered clear of renting apartments because of our desire for this first class service. Since we were taking a family trip to Paris, combined with business, we thought a compromise might be necessary so that we could live altogether in a shared space. Our experience in the Magnolia apartment, however, proved to be the contrary of anything we expected in apartment living, and exceeded all possible expectations. The devotion that would be paid to our every need was clear from the very first night. After picking us up at the airport and getting us settled into the apartment, you Christophe, stayed for hours making sure that the wireless internet connection was up and running so that my husband’s business affairs weren’t postponed. Later on in the week, when my diamond earring had fallen into the bathroom sink, you again, were there within minutes to help fetch it out by any means necessary. We truly felt like we were in the hands of good friends throughout the entire stay in Paris. While this had been a first for us, our business associate had been to Paris and rented apartments numerous times before. He too claimed that this experience, with your company, was by far the best accommodations and service he had ever had. Aside from the fantastic service and beautiful apartment, it is undeniable that the Magnolia apartment is in one of the finest locations in the city. The balcony rests right above the water, with an unbelievable view of Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Every night we enjoyed its twinkling light show from the comfort of our living room. While right in the center of Paris, Ile St. Louis also holds the local charm of a small village. Most nights we spent dinner out at restaurants, but within our 10 day stay, daily trips to the market and cheese shops around the corner evolved into friendly relationships with their proprietors. Our family trip had proved to be a magical one, and this was due greatly to the fantastic experience we enjoyed with your company, and we would recommend it highly to anyone. TRIP ADVISOR FORUM REPORT ON 10TH OF JANUARY 2008: For a belated honeymoon, we looked for a place in Paris for a week over New Year's. In searching on the web, and having loved Ile St. Louis during a prior visit to Paris, I found the website for Guest Apartment Services. They have one of the best websites I've ever seen - great pictures of their properties, pricing information, and clear and comprehensive descriptions of services, amenities, etc. Basically, they manage and rent out apartments on the Ile St. Louis, but they operate more like a hotel. Their properties range in size from a studio to multi-bedroom luxury townhouses. So you get the space/set-up of living like a local with the perks and services of a hotel. It's the best of both worlds. After falling in love with pictures on their website, I worked with Phillipe and Christophe via email to book a week's stay in their Acacia property. While aesthetically decorated in classic Parisan elegance, the fascade hides all of your modern day amenities including satellite t.v., a washer/dryer and full kitchen. The apartment was even more stunning in person, and has a beautiful balcony overlooking the Seine. We arrived early and even though the office was closed, Phillipe was reachable by cell and made arrangements for us to be able to drop our luggage at the apartment so we could begin our vacation. TRIP ADVISOR FORUM WEBSITE REPORT: Just got back from a weeks stay. Took the train from Brussels to Paris. Very easy. Luggage storage above the seats is good for carryon size luggage. Bigger bags have to be left by the doors. Stayed on the Ile St. Louis in a loft apartment right on the Seine. It was wonderful and quiet. Can't say enough about Phillipe and Christopher who run www.guestapartment.com The apartment was spotlessly clean and exactly as the photos show. Several older folk live in the building and were very friendly. We used their transport service which was very nice from the train station. and then to the airport. After reading endless stories about apartments with no towels, dirty, and problems we were so surprised when we walked in the door. Spotlessly clean, lots of towels, toilet paper, and everything else you would want. On the dining room table a huge bouquet of fresh flowers. Their office was a block from the apartment and were more than willing to help with anything you needed or questions. Like having your own travel agency right there. They both speak perfect English. Photos on their web site are totally accurate. What we enjoyed. River rides on the Seine. We did it once at night and once during the day. It was beautiful and fun. Spent a day at the Lourve. Should really be broken up in two days. Too much to see in one day. You feel dizzy when you leave. Was disappointed the Mona Lisa was behind glass. Between the glass, rope around it, and the crowds you could hardly see it. Used Paris Tours for a day trip to Versailles. Not to be missed. The Hall of MIrrors was breathtaking. I got goose bumps when I walked into that room. I would have to say the Versailles tour was the best part of my trip. Spent hours walking around looking at the sites and so much history. Shoppers can shop till you drop. Paris is big but really a walking city. The metro is easy to use and a good way to get around. I found the French to be friendly if approached in the right manner. I think speaking French would greatly enhance vacationing here. We don't but got by. A friendly Bon Jour goes along way.

Once again, we stayed in a charming apartment on the Ile St. Louis, smack dab in the middle of the Seine and in the middle of this beautiful city, within five minutes of Notre Dame and within incredibly scenic walking distance of the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, the Latin Quarter, St. Germain des Pres, the Marais, the Picasso Museum, the Pompidou Center, Pantheon, Hotel de Ville, the Conciergerie, St. Chapelle, and so much more. I HIGHLY recommend that, to get the most out of your time in this gorgeous city, you consider renting an apartment and checking out the charming island of St. Louis for your stay. While not "bargain basement" prices (you'll pay what you'd pay to stay in a top-notch hotel), the old adage "you get what you pay for" surely holds true here. Before I continue, a quick word: I am an infrequent poster. I guess because of this, and because my first post sung the praises of Guest Apartment Services, from whom we rented our apartment, there were questions in later postings as to whether or not I had been hired by this service to "advertise" for them. NOT TRUE. As I've said in the past, we are always quick to get the negatives out there to warn people off; shouldn't we be just as ready to let others know when service goes above and beyond -- and thus give credit where credit is due? I think so, and this is why I am taking the time to let others know. Read up on the Ile St. Louis -- charm, quiet, and atmosphere that truly cannot be described adequately, but must be experienced. Add to this a wonderful apartment and the time, care, and consideration given by Philippe Pee and Christophe Chastel of Guest Apartment Services when you rent one of their apartments, and your equation adds up to an unforgettable vacation. Our apartment was quiet, comfortable, elegant, and, best of all, included a small, flower-lined private terrace overlooking the Seine on Quai d'Anjou. Views of the river from every floor-to-ceiling window in this quaint apartment (in a 1640 building with private entrance through an iron gate and cobblestone courtyard) PLUS the first sight you see when you sit up in bed in the tiny but comfy loft bedroom ... what more can you ask? Fully equipped kitchen, with diswasher, washer/dryer, microwave, one and one-half baths ... and atmosphere at its best for late-morning-on-the-terrace coffee and croissants and for relaxed lunches and dinners of baguettes, cheese, olives, fruit, and wine. Christophe and Philiippe take care of everything -- fresh flowers and Evian upon your arrival, IMMEDIATE handling of any problem that might crop up, and pleasant service for almost anything. Their driver service picks you up at the airport and delivers you and your baggage directly to your apartment and then reverses the procedure upon your return home. Philippe and Christophe take care of reservations -- we used them to book the high-speed train for a day trip to the city of Dijon and for an afternoon/evening trip (via private driver) to the candlelight tour of Vaux le Vicomte with a dinner stop, for which they also made reservations, in the charming village of Barbizon. These trips were recommendations of Phillippe's and Christophe's, and were well worth our time to complete. I can even thank Philippe for his "whirlwind" wine tutorial -- buy a red Burgundy wine from the year 2003! We have come to feel that these two are friends; we cannot say enough about their attentiveness to their clients. They worked hard to help us deal with British Airways, who did not send our luggage on to Paris from Heathrow until the eleventh and twelfth days of our fourteen-day stay -- thank you, British Air! Without their help, getting the bags delivered correctly would have been difficult, as our French can't hold a candle to theirs! As I said, they will come to your assistance for WHATEVER is needed. With this being our third summer in the city, we spent much more time exploring, via walking, this gorgeous city and taking our time merely breathing in atmosphere -- didn't feel the need to rush from one major attraction to the next. I think this is one of the advantages to revisiting a favorite destination, as we have done twice, now. Some of our favorite "new" experiences this summer were the Picasso Museum, near the Bastille, and the Salvadore Dali museum (in Montmartre). We enjoyed many lovely wine-and/or-coffee evenings at the small cafes at the end of Ile St. Louis and wonderful dinners at the tiny Le Relais de L'Isle, complete with live piano music, on the main street of Ile St. Louis. Enjoy a crepe at the "take-out" window (my favorite was fromage, jambon, et l'oignon) and the always too-good-to-be-true, world-famous Berthillon ice cream and sorbet (try the melon sorbet; it is unbelievable). Mainly, spend many hours just soaking up the charm of this petite island, where you'll feel you've stepped back into the past. If you can, rent an apartment from Philippe and Christophe that overlook the Seine; your visual memories will last you a lifetime. Once again, please don't be skeptical -- I am NOT a "for-hire" poster for Guest Apartment Services -- go to their website -- www.guestapartment.com -- and look at some of their apartments yourself. Ours was "ROSE," and I can tell you that the photos are accurate; you won't arrive and find something that doesn't resemble what you thought you were going to see! We feel very lucky that we serendipitously "found" Philippe and Christophe for our first stay; we'll never use anyone else, and we would not even consider staying anywhere else in Paris but on the Ile St. Louis. If you go, you'll understand why. Please post and let me know if you look into this and also if you give it a try. While we have plans to visit Turkey next summer, I can guarantee you that we will return to Paris and to Guest Apartment Services in the future. They have been the "gold standard" for all of our vacations thus far, and I suspect they will remain so. Happy Paris vacationing! We hope you will enjoy this lovely city as much as we have.

Our first time posting, but wanted to sing the praises of "Guest Apartment Services Paris" to anyone looking for absolutely wonderful accommodations on their first or next trip to Paris. We have just spent our second summer renting from this wonderful service and cannot say enough about everything associated with them. First of all, Philippe Pee and Christophe Chastel, who run Guest Apartment Services, go above and beyond whenever needed. This past June/July, we needed somewhat last-minute accommodations for our traveling son and his girlfriend who decided to spend five days with us. Philippe and Christophe arranged an apartment for them on very short notice, and even kept us posted when an apartment in our very same building became available that they could switch to. They are prompt, reliable, and accurate correspondents, and e-mails were always answered promptly. Guest Apartment Services has quite a few apartments on what we consider to be the very best place to stay in Paris -- the Ile St. Louis, nestled right in the middle of the Seine between Marais on the Right Bank and St. Germain des Pres on the Left Bank and, literally, a five-minute walk to Notre Dame on the Ile de la Cite. It is a tiny, elegant, quiet, charming spot that is in the heart of the city and convenient to metro stops and major sights, but yet gives one the impression that time has stood still. The architecture, the history, the atmosphere, the shops, the restaurants -- all wonderful. Add to this the fact that one has Philippe and Christophe to act as concierge services, and one cannot ask for more. For two summers in a row we have stayed on Quai d'Anjou, bordering the Right Bank, with a magnificent view over the Seine. The building we stayed in was built in the 1640s and features an iron gate leading into a small, charming courtyard from which one enters the building. Our apartment last year was a charming studio (our son and girlfriend stayed there this year) which we loved, equipped with washer/dryer, microwave, and so on -- and atmosphere galore. Our apartment this year (we needed more room as we had a friend traveling with us who slept on a very comfy sleeper sofa) was a floor above the studio, with a loft bedroom, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, and, best of all, an intimate, flower-box-bordered terrace from which to enjoy a glass of wine, beer, or cocktails -- with a view of the Seine to die for. A gorgeous arrangement of fresh flowers and comfy terrycloth robes awaited us on our arrival. For the price of a good or very good hotel, an apartment through Guest Apartment Services on the Ile St. Louis provided us with the independence of our "own" residence in a section of the city that, truly, cannot be equaled for charm and atmosphere. We could walk to wonderful bakeries, cheese shops, spirit shops, cafes -- and enjoy bread, cheese, and wine in our own home away from home when the mood struck us. After busy days of walking, touring, and enjoying the hustle-bustle of this marvelous city, we always breathed a contented sigh when we crossed the bridge to Ile St. Louis. We are planning next year's trip back to Paris already and cannot wait to revisit our "Paris home away from home"! Give this service and Ile St. Louis a try; we tell everyone who's thinking of a trip to Paris about them!

If you are staying for a week in Paris, consider an apartment over a hotel. Though it may not have all the English language television stations, you aren't in Paris to watch TV. This was the second time we've used Guest Apartment Services (www.guestapartment.com). It is a great alternative from hotels. There's more space, a kitchen (fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, plates, glasses, etc) and the ability to get the feel of living in Paris. Our apartment, on Ile St. Louis was centrally located, easy to get to metro or the "boat" bus for easy on/off along the river. The kitchen provides you with the opportunity for a cheap and easy breakfast. With all the stores and bakeries around, stock up on bottled water, soda, and the basic foods for Paris, i.e., great bread and butter. Finally, Philippe was great, especially patient in making all of our lunch and dinner reservations--he'll also arrange transportation to/from the airport. Although no "formal" concierge, Philippe and Christophe are there to make life easy and located near (walking distance) most of the apartments.

What a wonderful few days in Paris. Your studio on Quai de Bourbon was everything we wanted, magnificent location , wonderful outlook and delightfully appointed (forget hotel rooms).Your service was magnificent starting with collection at CDG by Victor's Limousines a great idea which saved us trying to find somewhere unfamiliar and the driver couldn't have been more helpful (please pass our thanks).A couple of minor hitches, largely if not wholly attributable to my inadequacies were dealt with instantly by Jean Paul. We particularly enjoyed the visit to some of your other apartments and were hugely impressed in all of them (including our studio) by the furnishings and of course the first class bed linen. Your restaurant recommendation of Le Villaret was a highlight a magnificent meal and for a cheese lover like me the cheese selection and presentation was literally unforgettable (I counted 19 cheeses). I remember the first time we came across the website for Guest Apartments. The original picture we saw of the view of the Seine was too close to a picture postcard to be true. We knew the view as we had stayed in hotels in the Marais on many occasions. We started to email Christophe and Philippe, and were very happy to receive not only prompt responses, but responses that exuded a warm welcome. We were very impressed with the web pictures of the various apartments. Yet, we had our doubts too. Were these photos genuine? Have they been altered with photo tools? We emailed Christophe and Philippe and asked if a friend of ours who lives in Paris could visit an apartment or two. A meeting was arranged and the response from our friend was indeed the apartments look exactly like the pictures. We have used other vacation rental firms in other countries. We are proud to tell all who may visit Guest Apartments that you will truly find a home away from home. You will be greeted in a truly warm and genteel way whether you use the recommended airport transfer or arrive at the office on your own. Five days after living through our first hurricane and only eighteen hours after our power was restored, we arrived at our apartment. Despite fatigue from the non stop hurricane clean-up and the transatlantic flight, seeing the arrangement of fresh cut flowers remains an everlasting wonderful impression. We were indeed in a very special place. We know that people in the US have heard all the negative stereotypes of the French people. Please, don’t believe them. At Guest Apartments you will find hosts who enjoy making your vacations pleasant. You will be welcomed to their home city. You will not find a company that only tries to separate you from your dollars or euros. You will find services comparable to that of the best concierge at a luxury hotel or an on sight owner of a small B&B. Whether this is your first trip to Paris or you are familiar with the city, staying on Isle St. Louis is like being in the middle of a small village. Within days, the local bakers will recognize you when you come early for bread and croissants. It’s wonderful to share the sidewalks with local residents waling the children to and from school. Yet, the hustle and bustle of the larger city is just a minute’s stroll across the Seine. When planning a trip to Paris, we now verify availability with Guest Apartments before attempting to deal with the airlines. We would never consider any other accommodations in Paris.
