The Ile Saint Louis is literally in the heart of the city, a small island in the middle of the Seine and one of the most charming neighbourhoods the city has to offer. The setting could not be more convenient to exploring every arrondissement. A 5 minute walk to Notre-Dame Cathedral, Beaubourg and the Marais. You are also a short walk from all the necessary shops and services which will make your stay especially comfortable. This is a bright and stylish apartment in Paris, a wonderful, restful counterpoint to the bustle of activity beyond the island. The stately 17th century building, is preceded by a small; quiet, cobblestone courtyard. A beautiful curved stone staircase brings you to your front door. This apartment combines the charm of "le Grand Siècle " with the comfort and conveniences of the 21st century. Two ceiling-high windows overlook the Seine River, the Left bank, and allow for natural light to bath the apartment. Approaching the windows or stepping out on the balcony you have a magnificent view of Notre-Dame cathedral.

TRIP ADVISOR FORUM REPORT ON 10TH OF JANUARY 2008: For a belated honeymoon, we looked for a place in Paris for a week over New Year's. In searching on the web, and having loved Ile St. Louis during a prior visit to Paris, I found the website for Guest Apartment Services. They have one of the best websites I've ever seen - great pictures of their properties, pricing information, and clear and comprehensive descriptions of services, amenities, etc. Basically, they manage and rent out apartments on the Ile St. Louis, but they operate more like a hotel. Their properties range in size from a studio to multi-bedroom luxury townhouses. So you get the space/set-up of living like a local with the perks and services of a hotel. It's the best of both worlds. After falling in love with pictures on their website, I worked with Phillipe and Christophe via email to book a week's stay in their Acacia property. While aesthetically decorated in classic Parisan elegance, the fascade hides all of your modern day amenities including satellite t.v., a washer/dryer and full kitchen. The apartment was even more stunning in person, and has a beautiful balcony overlooking the Seine. We arrived early and even though the office was closed, Phillipe was reachable by cell and made arrangements for us to be able to drop our luggage at the apartment so we could begin our vacation. The service is impeccable and attentive, and the operation is well run and extremely professional. I would stay here over a hotel in Paris. I look forward to staying in the Acacia apartment again soon. I highly recommend this service for anyone staying in Paris for at least a week. Check them out: www.guestapartment.com.
