In the heart of Paris, Boulevard Henri IV, in the Marais district, stretches between Ile Saint Louis and Place de la Bastille. It is near Place des Vosges, Saint Paul neighborhood with its antique shops, Picasso and Carnavalet museums. The Marais is a preserved “historic” Parisian district, a jewel of architecture, thanks to the intervention of the Minister of Culture André Malraux in the sixties. The Marais experienced its golden age in the 17th century, when most of today’s historical buildings were constructed for noble families. One never get bored walking from a square to a museum, getting lost in small streets full of history, because it is also an extremely lively residential area. All services, food shops, restaurants and trendy boutiques are within walking distance.
The small square Henri-Galli, located after crossing the Seine, on the left, between Quai des Célestins and boulevard Henri IV, contains a vestige of the Bastille prison foundation, and, at the current number 46 there was its drawbridge. The Célestins district host the headquarters of the Republican Horse Guard, just opposite your residence. This military corps provides missions of honor and security for the benefit of the highest authorities of the State in France, as well as security missions for the benefit of the public. It is the prestigious attraction of the parade of July 14th on the Champs Élysées.
Connected to the rest of Paris by four metro lines, the access to the most important and most beautiful monuments is easy.

Located opposite the Republican Guard Barracks, the apartment is on the 2nd floor with elevator of a Haussmann style building. The main entrance with a large gate is secured by a digicode. After passing a second secured glass door, the spacious staircase, decorated with stained glass windows on each floor is served by a modernized vintage elevator. The beautiful wooden stairs are covered with a velvet carpet, according to the tradition of buildings of this style. The elegant 50 square meters property have been completely renovated in a contemporary and elegant style while preserving the original moldings in the entrance hall, the bedroom and the living room. Exception made of the kitchen and the bathroom the entire floors are covered with a nice Hungarian point parquet. The dominant colors are shades of gray and white. The west-facing kitchen and bedroom offer views on the adjoining buildings private gardens.
Entering in the apartment, the feeling is harmonious with a mix of retained moldings on the walls and the high ceiling, wooden floors in Hungarian stitch and contemporary amenities while retaining its Parisian authentic charm. The gray walls and the white ceiling highlight the elegance, completed by two panoramic wallpapers, with floral pattern in shades of gray. A small wooden bench decorates this welcoming space.
Just left of the entrance is the built in kitchen, all in lacquered white elements. Two windows open onto a quiet courtyard and offer romantic views of charming private gardens, with trees. A corner is dedicated to the meal with a rectangular wooden table and small benches in the wall. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, induction hob, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. The small household appliances are also available: Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, kettle, as well as crockery, glasses and cutlery arranged in the many cupboards and drawers.
From the hallway the independent toilet is accessible, as well as the bathroom with its small walk-in shower, a washbasin, drawers for toiletries and a towel warmer.
In the second part of the hallway, large cupboards have been fitted out for suitcases and clothes. The small corridor leads to the living room on the right and the bedroom on the left, both with retained moldings on the high ceilings and wooden floors in Hungarian stitch.
The bright living room is equipped with a comfortable gray sofa, decorated on both side by pretty lamps and, on the floor, a nice carpet brings a colored note to the small coffee tables. An armchair and a chest of drawers complete the charming mix of ancient decoration and modern comfort. The high French windows, adorned with water green velvet curtains, open on a small balcony that gives an exceptional view of the Republican Guard barracks. A small round table and two chairs invite to the show, when, on exceptional events, the guards in their ceremony uniforms go out on horseback, it is an unforgettable moment.
On the opposite side of the hall, the bedroom faces west. From its window, adorned with light rose velvet curtains, you can admire the private gardens. It is equipped with a king size bed. Pretty sconces adorn the white walls, a high mirror, a bedside table complete the decor of this quiet and refreshing room.
