LOCATION
The Ile de la Cité is an island on the Seine River. It is the location of the original village that would become centuries later the French capital: Paris.
The island is famous today for its beautiful Notre Dame cathedral, the Sainte Chapelle, the Palais de Justice, the Conciergerie, and the Flower Market. Today only a very small number of Parisians are fortunate enough to call the island home. The island maintains a small residential neighbourhood in which can be found this exclusive one bedroom property. Just located in front of the famous Pont Neuf, the oldest bridge of Paris, and only a stone throw from Notre Dame, this apartment offers bright daylight from the three large windows and stunning views of the Seine River. It is an ideal location for leisurely walks along the banks of the Seine River and amid many historic buildings in the neighbourhood. This privileged location is within walking distance of the Louvre, the Pompidou Centre, Le Marais and Saint Germain des Prés
All shopping necessities and many luxuries are very close by just minutes away on the Ile Saint Louis: a pharmacy, a post office, a news agent, bakeries and pastries, the famous « Berthillon » ice creams, wine and cheese shops, grocery stores and other fine shops. Other services, traditional restaurants and brasseries, cafés, art galleries, a bank with automatic teller machines are to be found on the Ile. The two Iles are organized in such a way that you feel to be in a Village in the heart of Paris.
THE APARTMENT
Entering inside the building, after a small flight of stairs there is a lift that will lead you to the 4th French floor. After this short trip up, you finally arrive to your Parisian “Pied à terre”.
The lobby entrance open to the kitchen on the right, the bathroom on the left and at the end the living area. The parquet floors for the main rooms and the marble tiled bathroom and kitchen as well as the pearl-gray walls give a special “cachet” to this newly renovated apartment.
The fully equipped marble kitchen provides all the necessary convenience and equipment you may need during your stay to prepare fine meals: a vitro-ceramic stove top, a combined microwave-oven, a dishwasher, a refrigerator with a separate section for freezer, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster & glassware, cutlery. Dishes and utensil are stored in the numerous and different sized cabinets. It is separated from the dining room by a one-way mirror.
The outstanding view of the river and the Left Bank is an invitation for fine candlelight dinners.The dining set offers an elegant round wooden table and 4 modern green velvet chairs. Also a Louis 16th style chest of drawers and the majestuous lamp complete its elegance.
In the living room, the masterpiece is a carved decorative marble chimney adorned by a large mirror. The reception space is organized with a comfortable Chesterfield black leather sofa, a Louis XV style green velvet armchair and a large velvet poof table. The TV is hidden in the wall. Three large windows, adorned with black out curtains, open to the River flowing below, the Left Bank and the Pont Neuf.
A sliding door separate the living room from the bedroom. This bedroom offers a comfortable new queen size bed adorned by two night tables and two lamps on each side of the bed. A high built in closet will hold your personal clothes.
Accessible from the bedroom, one enter into the full marble bathroom. It includes a large walk in shower, a washbasin, mirror, towel warmer and WC. Also a hair dryer is available.
In the lobby entrance, a front loading washer/dryer is hidden in a cabinet.
Other main electrical appliances for your convenience: Cable TV (with the main international channels), private telephone line with answering machine.
New WIFI High Speed internet with the same unlimited free connection as in all our Paris apartment rentals.
In addition there is an intercom device for your own security and privacy. This is a non-smoking apartment. For sanitary reason, pets are not allowed.
