This charming one-bedroom apartment is situated rue Mazarine, in the heart of St. Germain-des-Pres, one of the French capital’s most centrally located neighborhoods. It is the perfect setting to admire the best architecture, art and French culture in Paris. A few footsteps from your front door, the Institut de France, you will find one of the most beautiful bridges in Paris the Pont des Arts, with delicate ironwork and unparalleled views of the Seine. The Palais de l'Institut de France, designed by royal architect Le Vau, is now most notably home to the Académie Française, devoted to the patronage and protection of the arts, letters, and sciences. L’ Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts, France's most acclaimed art school, is just two blocks away. Founded in 1811 by Napoleon, the Ecole quickly became the coveted cradle of Parisian art. Celebrated as the epicenter of the Parisian antiques trade, the neighborhood is home to dozens of elegant 18th century hôtels particuliers, which lead the way to food shops, cafes, restaurants and boutiques on the fashionable Boulevard saint Germain with Le Café de Flore the favorite haunt of Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir…
SHOPPING & RESTAURANTS: The area will offer you all daily shopping you may need with several supermarkets, bakeries, services, fines shops & several small bistros and restaurants,
like La Palette, that is protected by the National Monuments institution.
Ambiance : This 17th century construction is located near the the Wall of Philip Augustus, that is the oldest city wall of Paris whose plan is accurately known. Partially integrated into buildings, more traces of it remain than of the later fortifications which were destroyed and replaced by the Grands Boulevards. The building offers all security and privacy, protected by a front door code and interphone. The foyer entrance of the building opens onto a small private court. On the left, a glass door leads to the staircase which gives you access to the 1st floor.
The configuration of the apartment has been renovated and remodelled respecting the charm materials of the past.This elegant pied-à-terre combines the best of “vieux” Parisian style (original beams, wooden parquet floor) with the comfort and convenience of modern amenities. All three windows of the salon and office are equipped with double glazing to prevent from the noise of the street.
This surface of 92 square meters is very convenient and you will feel at home in a convivial and elegant atmosphere.
The entrance hallway opens on the left to the built in kitchen, facing the courtyard. It is mostly decorated in beige closets and white tiles. It offers all the appliances you need for serious cooking needs, such as a large stove and fridge, freezer, coffee maker, toaster, electrical kettle. All necessary cutlery, glassware and crockery are also available.
At the end of the hallway, on the left one enter into the bedroom which is also facing the courtyard. It offers a queen size bed. The ensuite bathroom is featuring an antique bathtub. A full shower, with a sink, a towel warmer and a toilet are separated.
The dining area is set in a corner of the living room. Around a large glass table, you will be able to seat six with ease.
In the living-room you first notice an authentic marble chimney adorned with a large mirror. As for the seating arrangement, you will find a comfortable sofa along with four contemporary armchairs centered on a glass coffee table
From the living room, a large beige curtain organize naturally a junction to the office, where a cozy sofa, convertible into a bed for one person, invites for reading, writing or watching television on a plasma TV with cable offering the main international channels.
A second toilet is available in the room adjacent to the office.
All the apartment has been furnished and decorated with selective antique furnishings and many framed old prints and paintings.
This property has the added benefit of free unlimited WiFi access.
NOTE: For your security and privacy, the building is protected by intercom device. Only residents are allowed to enter in the building. For security reason, pets are not allowed. This apartment is a non-smoking apartment.
